WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA

Hi! I'm Natasha! Your intimate wedding and elopement photographer, dog petter and donut eater. While photography is my first love, connecting with people is my love language. You'll find me lovin' on the big moments, the quiet moments, the silly moments – but especially the in between moments. The moments that are unadulterated and unfiltered. The ones where you are the real you. Here on the blog you'll find all of my favorite tips, tricks and resources for planning a wedding that's all about those moments.

Katie and Haven are those type of people that you meet and it feels like you've been friends for a lifetime. So when they told me that they were interested in a Whidbey Island engagement session I was 100% ready to roll. As a Whidbey Island engagement photographer, I knew just the place for them. Washington is such an incredible place, with so many absolutely stunning places to go for engagement shoots. But Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve has a magic to it that is hard to capture in words. Maybe I'm biased though, because it's especially special to me. On a chilly evening in March 2022, just as the sun dipped behind the mountains, Brian (my fiancé) proposed to me here. It was such a magical day. Watching Mount Rainier and Mount Olympus slowly slip away in the clouds. Watching the seals and sea birds fish along the shores. The way the soft grasses glow in the evening sun. This place holds a magic that I was so happy to share with them for such a special day in their own lives.
As we walked along the paths, we talked for what seemed like hours about their travels, the local plants (Haven knew all of the local flora that I've been dying to learn about since moving to Washington), about how Katie and I share a dream of having our own cow one day. (c'mon, you're telling me Highland cows aren't the cutest things ever?) We dreamt about having a homestead one day, to garden and farm, and have chickens. Ya know, all the normal stuff. We basked in the smokey sunset and breathed in the last of the warm summer breeze before it gave way to the crisp fall air.
Thank you so much for spending such a lovely warm fall day with me, Katie + Haven! Lastly, if you're planning on visiting Ebey's Landing, definitely check out my favorite burrito spot, Jumbo Burrito in Oak Harbor, for one of the best (and biggest!) burritos you've ever had.
