Hi! I'm Natasha! Your intimate wedding and elopement photographer, dog petter and donut eater. While photography is my first love, connecting with people is my love language. You'll find me lovin' on the big moments, the quiet moments, the silly moments – but especially the in between moments. The moments that are unadulterated and unfiltered. The ones where you are the real you. Here on the blog you'll find all of my favorite tips, tricks and resources for planning a wedding that's all about those moments.

THE COUPLE

As fellow hiking, fishing, dog petting, lake lounging foodies, we hit it off with Jessica and Evan right from day one. And when they said they were thinking of a Whatcom Falls elopement, we couldn't have been more thrilled! Transplants from back east like us, and newly transplanted to Bellingham (like us!) it immediately felt like we just got each other, ya know? Brian and I had just moved to Bellingham a few months earlier, so it all really felt like the stars aligned for us.

THE VISION

When we got to planning, both Jessica and Evan were absolutely certain of one thing: that their elopement was about spending time with their families and celebrating it all together. With much of their family flying in from out east, the most important thing for them was being able to share their love and their wedding day with them. So everything we planned was to maximize the amount of time they could spend with their loved ones!

When it came to creative vision, Jessica and Evan knew they wanted a mix of a few things. Both lovers of antique and vintage things, they incorporated oil lamps, dish ware, and bud vases that were all thrifted from our AMAZING local estate sale warehouse (shout out to Penny Pinchers!). But this was also a way to incorporate pieces of their new home into their story. Their Airbnb was the perfect mix of modern PNW feel, right on Lake Whatcom and just a quick 15 minute drive from their ceremony location at Whatcom Falls Park, to include their love of the water, of fishing, of the beautiful PNW summer vibes. But when it came to photos, they were all about the dreamy, soft, fun and organic. Nothing to stuffy, nothing too posed. With plenty of laughing and plenty of natural elements incorporated. And....that's what I'm all about. (:

ELOPEMENT DAY - A WHATCOM FALLS ELOPEMENT

On elopement day, everything couldn't have gone more perfectly. It was a sunny Washington July day (if you've spent any time in the PNW you know how magical this time of year is), the perfect temperature. As we pulled up to their Airbnb to take some getting ready photos, the breeze blew through off the lake. Jessica and Evan knew they wanted to do a first look, so we chose a special private spot on the lake shore for them, and then watched Jessica make her way down the stairs to meet Evan. First looks are always one of my favorite parts of the day and this one was no exception.

Then we made out way to Whatcom Falls Park! Being a Bellingham local myself, I LOVE Whatcom Falls because it's one of the most beautiful public parks in a city that I've ever been to. The week before their elopement we decided to pay the park a visit to scope out where they would do their ceremony too. With plenty of waterfalls, big beautiful cedar and spruce trees, tons of private nooks to sneak away from people, there was no shortage of gorgeous spots but they landed on a secluded mini cliff where they could see the creek below and be nestled into the trees. Private, just big enough to host their loved ones, and pretty damn beautiful if you ask me. And as they kissed, their families rang tiny bells for them (the perfect Leave No Trace friendly send off), and they were married! The rest of the night was spent listening to heartfelt speeches, eating cake, popping champagne, and having the most relaxing, emotional and memorable time together.

Thank you so much for including us in your day, Jessica + Evan! We'll hold you to your fishing trip invite soon enough!

THE PACKAGE

Jessica and Evan booked us for our 8 hour elopement day package and it was the perfect amount of time to include time for getting ready photos, travel to and from their ceremony, the ceremony, their portrait session, and dinner with speeches at their Airbnb, with plenty of time for organic moments to unfold.
