SEATTLE ENGAGEMENT

seattle wedding photographer

Hi! I'm Natasha! Your Seattle elopement photographer, dog petter and donut eater. While photography is my first love, connecting with people is my love language. You'll find me lovin' on the big moments, the quiet moments, the silly moments – but especially the in between moments. The moments that are unadulterated and unfiltered. The ones where you are the real you. Here on the blog you'll find all of my favorite tips, tricks and resources for planning an elopement that's all about those moments.

THE COUPLE

There's certain no shortage of options for absolutely bonkers Seattle engagement photo locations, with places like Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Park, and Mt. Baker so close by. But for Susannah and Mike, it was never just about the pretty views (although...Whidbey Island really is so beautiful, and just a short hop from Seattle). For them, it was about visiting a place that meant the world to them. Susannah and Mike fell in love on Whidbey Island while living in Seattle, visiting on the weekends for day trips, visiting the beaches (petting lots of dogs, since Bluff Beach is an off leash dog park too), and since moving to Boulder, CO, it was something they both had been missing since their move.

THE VISION

Because Susannah and Mike were all about including so much of their story in their photos (my FAVORITE thing to do for engagement/couples sessions, because some of the photos that we love the most are ones where we feel we can be ourselves, right?), when we were planning their day we made a point to include a mix of things they loved, not just pretty views. So to keep things sentimental, we headed to Whidbey Island the same way they would have if it was a normal weekend afternoon date, on the Seattle Ferry. Something especially nostalgic for them. But before we headed out to explore the island, we had to make a quick stop for some Whidbey Pies and coffee at The Greenbank Farm, one of my favorite places to walk the rolling hills, with sweeping views of the mountains and water on both sides of the island. Then we headed off to our next spot! Working in academia as geologists (um, very cool??? the big nerd in me would absolutely not stfu about rocks and geological formations, and they were more than happy to appease my dorky brain with so much amazing info!) they knew they wanted include some of their favorite spots for rock hounding too, Bluff Beach. All in all in couldn't have been a more perfect day.
