Hi! I'm Natasha! Your Washington elopement photographer, dog petter and donut eater. While photography is my first love, connecting with people is my love language. You'll find me lovin' on the big moments, the quiet moments, the silly moments – but especially the in between moments. The moments that are unadulterated and unfiltered. The ones where you are the real you. Here on the blog you'll find all of my favorite tips, tricks and resources for planning an elopement that's all about those moments.

THE COUPLE

Elanor and Ryan are two of those people that you meet and you just instantly admire everything about them. Elanor, a creative director, and Ryan a plant shop owner and tech genius, are two of the kindest hearts, with unbelievable talent and amazing taste. And being able to spend a rainy winter day with them in their cozy Seattle apartment was something out of an indie movie dream. Having spent some of their happiest years together in their home, we knew right from the start that doing some of their photos in a place that held so many amazing memories just felt right.

IN-HOME ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS

There's something about in-home sessions that always just feel a little more intimate to me. A little more special. I've always loved visiting other peoples homes, not because I wanna snoop around, but it's because it really tells you so much about someone. There's a simple beauty about being able to watch people walk around in the socks, holding their favorite mug of coffee. Curling up in corners that only they know. Knowing that that couch has had some deep conversations. Some tough conversations. That the coffee table books have heard secrets that no one else has. That there are corners in the room that have dust from trips you've taken. That the cat hair in the rug will probably never come out.

There's beauty in the simple things. Like the fridge magnets. From the books on the shelf, to the tiny hippo statues you got on that trip once. Everything tells a story.

And Elanor and Ryan's engagement was no exception. As a Seattle engagement photographer (And elopements of course) I'm no stranger to soggy days, and using the rain to make some magic. Rainy wedding days especially (like this January Almquist Winery wedding in Seattle!) can be unbelievably cozy and beautiful! So we explored the wet corners of their neighborhood together on a dark winter Seattle afternoon. Soaking our socks in the chilly rain, we ended our session with wet feet and rosy noses, but it was well worth it to be able to tell their story. Because the imperfect and the messy and the little moments are what tell the real story.

Thank you so much for spending the afternoon with me Elanor + Ryan (and sweet Princess, their kitty)! And for pointing me to one of the best lunch spots ever at Analog Coffee. If you're ever in the neighborhood grab their veggie toast. Cause its life changing.
